Heat close out road trip in Sacramento

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat look to close a five-game western road swing on a positive note Friday against the Sacramento Kings.

The Heat are 2-2 on the sojourn and suffered a 104-89 loss to the NBA-best Golden State Warriors Wednesday night. Chris Bosh scored 26 points and Luol Deng followed with 19 for the Heat, who had won two straight and three of four games.

"They were getting a lot of easy buckets," Bosh said. "Not so much the first quarter, (but) the second. They pushed it to double digits and we weren't able to recuperate."

Miami trailed by as many as 19 points and pulled within 81-72 at one point in the second game of a back-to-back. The Heat barely defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 78-75, on Tuesday.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry pumped in 32 points and made seven 3-pointers.

Heat veteran guard Dwyane Wade missed the game with a balky hamstring and is questionable. Wade is one game shy of 750 in his career. Hassan Whiteside tallied 10 points and 12 boards in the loss to the Warriors.

The Heat are 10-10 on the road and will host Oklahoma City this Tuesday.

Sacramento is 2-2 on a six-game homestand and dropped a 108-104 overtime decision to the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday.

DeMarcus Cousins recorded 32 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists and nine turnovers, while Darren Collison and Carl Landry scored 18 and 14 points, respectively, for the Kings, who are 10-12 at home and committed 20 turnovers for 27 Dallas points.

"Our guys fought hard," Kings head coach Ty Corbin said. "They gave us a chance to win the ball game."

Rudy Gay was held to four points in 10 minutes and is bothered by a strained left knee. He is doubtful for Friday night's game. Landry (wrist) and Ben McLemore (vision) are both questionable versus the Heat.

Sacramento will wrap up the homestand Saturday night versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Cousins has 22 double-doubles this season with 18 coming in the last 20 games played.

The Kings and Heat split two matchups last season with each team winning at home and will play again March 7 in South Beach. Sacramento ended a 10-game slide in this series with a 108-103 overtime victory on Dec. 27, 2013.
