Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. announced Tuesday that pitcher Cole Hamels will miss his next start with left shoulder inflammation.
The club, though, will not place the 27-year-old on the disabled list at this time.
In 25 starts for the MLB-best Phillies this season, Hamels has posted a 13-7 record with a 2.62 earned run average. He has recorded 155 strikeouts against 35 walks and held opponents to a .215 batting average.
