Gutierrez homers, powers Mariners to a 9-5 win over Dodgers and Chris Capuano
PEORIA, Ariz. – Franklin Gutierrez hit yet another home run for the Seattle Mariners in a 9-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, their eighth straight win.
Catcher Mike Zunino also went deep in a three-run third inning against Dodgers starter Chris Capuano. The Mariners have hit 20 homers in nine games this spring.
Gutierrez also had a double and drove in four runs.
Capuano retired the first six batters, striking out three. The left-hander then gave up two homers in the third.
Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma allowed one run in two innings.
