(SportsNetwork.com) - In a battle of teams with two-game winning streaks, the Memphis Grizzlies will complete a short road trip Friday night with a visit to Amway Center to face the Orlando Magic.
Memphis opened this brief trek with a 103-92 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. That win halted a three-game road losing streak for the Grizzlies, who are home for their next five following Friday night's contest.
Zach Randolph posted 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Grizz past their former coach, now current Nets' skipper, Lionel Hollins.
"It was different going against your old coach," Randolph remarked. (We've) been through a lot. Made history together, did stuff together in Memphis, turned the franchise around, so it was nice to see him out there."
Randolph finished 8-of-11 from the field, while Courtney Lee went 7-of-10 in an 18-point effort. Marc Gasol also scored 18 points while pulling down eight rebounds for the Grizzlies. Tony Allen managed 13 in the win.
Jeff Green, traded to Memphis from Boston in a three-team deal on Monday, had 10 points off the bench in his Grizzlies' debut.
After closing out the first half on a 7-0 run to take a 51-45 lead into the break, the Grizzlies put together a strong third quarter to move further in front.
Gasol's 3-point play ignited a 10-0 stretch that had Memphis up comfortably at 66-49 just over five minutes into the period, and the Grizzlies were ahead by as much as 19 points before entering the fourth holding an 82-65 advantage.
Brooklyn managed to get within 10 in the final minute.
The Magic have also won two straight and started this run with an impressive road win in Chicago on Monday. Two nights later, the Magic beat the Houston Rockets, 120-113, in Orlando.
Victor Oladipo put the exclamation point on the Magic upset win with a highlight-reel 360-degree dunk in the final minute. It also put the finishing touches on a great all-around performance from the blossoming second-year guard.
Oladipo finished with 32 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals to lead the Magic.
Nik Vucevic posted 25 points and 12 rebounds, while rookie point guard Elfrid Payton added 15 points, six boards and four assists for the Magic, who have won back-to-back games on the heels of a six-game losing streak.
"It just took time. It took a minute for us to figure out how to play," Oladipo said.
The Magic host the Oklahoma City Thunder to complete this residency.
The Grizzlies have won six straight against the Magic and two in a row in Orlando.
