Dundee, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Substitute Leigh Griffiths needed to score in the 55th minute to help Celtic earn a 1-1 draw at Dundee on Sunday, continuing a tough run of results for the Hoops.
A 1-0 loss in league play to Inverness last weekend was followed by a 2-1 aggregate defeat in a Champions League playoff with Maribor in midweek, knocking the side out of the competition.
And on Sunday, Celtic found itself behind inside of two minutes as James McPake headed home a corner kick from Philip Roberts, who struck the post shortly after as Dundee threatened to take control of the contest.
Griffiths came off the bench and managed to level the match for the visitors with a deflected shot that found its way into the net with 35 minutes to play.
Celtic's Anthony Stokes then hit the woodwork as he tried to put his side in front, but Dundee was equally dangerous and the hosts failed to make the most of several chances in the closing minutes to take a well-earned point.
