ASHBURN, Va. – Jason Hatcher says he needs to find a way to be the dominant player the Washington Redskins want him to be.
Hatcher has only four sacks through nine games — and 2 1/2 of those came in a Week 2 rout of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
There are several mitigating factors, including a nagging hamstring injury.
But Hatcher also said he needs to find "loopholes" in the defensive scheme when he can just be himself and go after the quarterback.
Coach Jay Gruden says he's expecting more from Hatcher.
Said the coach: "When we have third down and 5 and 6 and 7, we need him to get pressure in the quarterback's face consistently, and that hasn't been the case."
