Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac will rejoin Marseille on Wednesday after being banned by the club for an ugly incident involving coach Didier Deschamps, the French club announced Tuesday.

Gignac was upset about being left out of the squad for a Champions League game against Olympiacos last week, and insulted Deschamps in front of the team. The club suspended the player Thursday.

"Following these meetings, it has been agreed that the player will return to the first-team squad on Wednesday morning after apologizing to the whole of the squad," Marseille posted on its website.

Gignac missed Sunday's 3-0 win over rival PSG, but is set to rejoin the squad as the club looks to build on the important win and put a poor start to the season in the past.
