Regardless of the outcome of the final stages of this season, the San Francisco Giants have some exciting matchups to look forward to in 2016, including a reunion with beloved former third baseman Pablo Sandoval.
MLB released its tentative schedule for 2016 earlier this week, granting fans a preview of what the season will look like next year.
They Giants are slated to open the forthcoming season with a non-divisional road series against the Milwaukee Brewers, after which they will play their home opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 7 to open a four-game series against their division rivals.
San Francisco's 2016 home slate will end exactly as it begins, as the team will play host to the Dodgers for their final series of the season from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at AT&T Park.
The Giants' most noteworthy interleague series comes in June against the Red Sox, when Sandoval will visit AT&T Park for the first time since being traded to Boston and reunite with his old teammates.
After the All-Star break in July, the Giants will visit Sandoval in his new home for a two-game series, which will be followed by a three-game series against the Yankees in New York.
The Giants' longest continuous stretch of the season is set to begin in Tampa Bay with a four-game series and end just before the All-Star break with a three-game series against the Rockies, during which they will play 20 consecutive games.
