Giants linebacker Goff out for season with a torn ACL
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The injury-hit New York Giants suffered yet another setback when linebacker Jonathan Goff was ruled out for the season Tuesday with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Goff, who finished 2010 with 80 tackles and one sack, sustained the injury during Monday's practice, the National Football League (NFL) Network reported.
The Giants have already lost cornerbacks Terrell Thomas, Bruce Johnson and Brian Witherspoon, linebacker Clint Sintim and defensive tackle Marvin Austin to injury since training camp opened.
New York will play their first game of the regular season against the Washington Redskins Sunday.
