Olmes Garcia came off the bench to spark a 3-1 Real Salt Lake victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday as he scored two goals in the final six minutes at Rio Tinto Stadium for the home side.

Both teams scored late in the first half with Khari Stephenson finding the net for Salt Lake in the 44th minute before Landon Donovan equalized in first-half stoppage time for the Galaxy.

With the match tied at 1-1, Garcia came off the bench in the 61st minute and he put RSL into the lead with an 84th-minute header before securing the win in stoppage time with his fifth goal of the campaign.

Salt Lake has now won five of its last seven matches, while the Galaxy is heading in the opposite direction with five defeats in seven games.

Khari Stephenson was the most dangerous player for RSL in the first half, and after hitting the post with a free kick, he scored on a shot from outside the area that Los Angeles goalkeeper Brian Rowe should have kept out.

Jose Villarreal hammered a shot off the crossbar from 25 yards for the visitors in the 29th, but after Stephenson's opener, Donovan answered back after bringing down a long ball from Greg Cochrane.

Robbie Rogers almost set up another Donovan goal in the 81st, but Salt Lake came right back and took the lead when Javier Morales crossed to the middle of the penalty area for Garcia, who turned a header past the helpless Rowe in the Galaxy net.

Morales set up the insurance tally for Garcia as well as he released the young forward down the right wing for his fifth goal of the season to put the result away.
