London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Fulham announced Friday that it has signed Dutch international Johnny Heitinga from Everton on a loan deal for the remainder of the season with an option to buy in the summer.
The 30-year-old center-back joined Everton in 2009 from Atletico Madrid and moves to the Cottagers to provide cover for Philippe Senderos, who joined La Liga club Valencia on a permanent transfer Friday.
Heitinga, who came through Ajax's fabled youth system, made 140 appearances for the Merseyside club and was recognized by Everton supporters as their Player of the Year in 2012.
