Fulham signed Greece international Giorgos Karagounis on a free transfer Tuesday.

Karagounis, 35, made his debut for Greece in 1999 and has made 120 appearances for his country. He helped Greece win Euro 2004.

"I'm delighted to have signed for Fulham Football Club and I am excited by a new challenge in England and the Barclays Premier League," Karagounis said.

Karagounis last played for Panathinaikos in Greece from 2007-12. He previously played for the squad from 1998-2003. Karagounis also had spells at Inter Milan and Benfica.

"Giorgos Karagounis has a wealth of club and international experience and I'm happy that he's joined us for this season," Fulham manager Martin Jol said.
