Fulham defender Grygera out for six months

Fulham defender Zdenek Grygera will be out approximately six months with a knee injury suffered Sunday against Tottenham, the English Premier League club said Thursday.

Grygera was injured in the first half of the match at Craven Cottage, required oxygen on the field and was carried off the field on a stretcher. Fulham later discovered Grygera suffered an ACL injury.

"The club can confirm that Zdenek Grygera suffered an ACL rupture during the match against Tottenham on Sunday, November 6," Fulham posted on its website. "It is estimated that the recovery period for an injury of this nature is approximately six months.

"The club will update further on Zdenek's progress during the course of his rehabilitation."

Grygera, a Czech Republic international, joined Fulham from Juventus in August and had made five Premier League appearances.
