Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Florida State junior defensive end Mario Edwards, Jr. and junior cornerback Ronald Darby have decided to give up their remaining collegiate eligibility and enter the 2015 NFL Draft.
Edwards, a native of Mississippi, picked up 44 tackles and three sacks this past season. He departs campus having racked up 89 tackles and eight sacks over 36 games (26 starts) for the Seminoles.
"Mario was a tremendous player and person here at FSU and I want to thank him for three great years here," FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher said. "Mario improved each year since he arrived on campus and I'm excited to see him continue that growth in the NFL. I'm excited for him and his family and I think he will have a great professional career."
Darby, the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, recorded 79 tackles, 16 passes defensed and one forced fumble over 42 lifetime appearances (23 starts).
"Ronald was a big part of our success here and helped us reach the next level over the last three years," Fisher added. "I'm excited for Ronald and his family. He was a phenomenal player for us here at Florida State, and I think he has a chance to be a great pro."
