METZ, France – Karim Benzema scored in the first half and Yoann Gourcuff in the second to lead France over Luxembourg 2-0 Tuesday night and keep Les Bleus atop their group in European Championship qualifying.
Benzema scored off Gourcuff's corner kick in the 22nd minute and Gourcuff on a swirling 25-yard shot in the 76th.
Luxembourg midfielder Rene Peters was ejected in the 54th after hacking down Gourcuff with both feet.
France (3-0) leads Group D with nine points, one more than Belarus (2-0-2), which won 2-0 at home against Albania.
