Flyers lock up Coburn

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed year contract extension Wednesday.

The team did not announce terms of the deal, which TSN reported to be four years and $18 million.

The Flyers acquired Coburn from the Atlanta Thrashers for defenseman Alexei Zhitnik in February 2007.

Coburn, selected eighth overall by Atlanta in the 2003 draft, has recorded 26 goals and 114 points in 393 career games with the Thrashers and Flyers.

The 26-year-old has three points in 14 games this season.
