DeJuan Wright's layup with 7 seconds remaining in overtime lifted Florida International over Troy 81-80 on Thursday night.

The Golden Panthers (9-13, 4-6 Sun Belt Conference) trailed 80-79 after Regis Huddleston was fouled on a 3-point attempt and nailed the first two free throws. Huddleston's third attempt missed and Wright grabbed the rebound with 32 seconds on the clock.

Huddleston missed a jumper with 2 seconds to go in OT, sealing the win for FIU.

Phil Gary scored 21 points, Marvin Roberts added 13, Dominique Ferguson and Wright each had 12 and Phil Taylor 10 for the Golden Panthers, who snapped a six-game losing streak.

A 3-pointer from Troy's Travis Lee with 54 seconds left in regulation tied it at 72, forcing the overtime period.

Vernon Taylor led the Trojans (5-17, 3-7) with 23 points. Bernard Toombs had 16 points, Huddleston finished with 15 and Lee 12.
