Tim Tebow was blown away after a married Florida couple bid $100,000 to spend a day with the New York Jets quarterback so they could take him to meet underprivileged children in their neighborhood.

The winning bid was placed at a live auction to kick off the Tim Tebow Golf Classic at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Friday -- a fundraising event for the Tim Tebow Foundation.

The couple, who the foundation did not identify, plan to take the wildly popular NFL star to meet with the children near their home in Florida Keys, The St. Augustine Record reported.

"It was incredible. It's humbling," Tebow said Saturday. "You don't feel worthy, but when people care about your cause and know that you're trying to do something for other people it's amazing to see what can happen."

Tim Tebow Foundation executive director Erik Dellenback said there was initial disbelief when the bid was placed, until he realized who had made the bid, as the couple had donated previously.

"They live in a part of town that has a lot of people in need and a lot of people with a lot of wealth. She felt that bringing Timmy to her town down there would maybe change the town," Dellenback said.

"She cleared it with Timmy and it sounds like she's going to have a little event where she brings some of the kids who are in need and some of the kids who are deserving."
