Flames place Morrison on IR
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames placed forward Brendan Morrison on injured reserve Thursday due to inadequate rehabilitation following surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Morrison last played on November 4 against Buffalo, and has zero points in eight games this season.
A former Hobey Baker Award winner at Michigan, Morrison had nine goals and 34 assists in 66 games with Calgary last year.
In 903 career contests with the Devils, Canucks, Stars, Ducks, Capitals and Flames, Morrison has racked up 196 goals and 394 assists.
Calgary recalled forward Paul Byron from the Abbotsford Heat of the AHL to fill the roster spot.
