The inaugural Lombardi Bowl, the first- compliant FCS-only Senior All-Star game, will be played on Jan. 16 at the Virginia Beach sports complex.

With the game still months - and a full season - away, seniors on FCS-level teams have ample opportunity to be considered for inclusion in the showcase. Each week The Sports Network will select the national offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, who will then be put into consideration for the Lombardi Bowl.

In addition to The Sports Network's national selection, there will be regional awards at various positions (quarterback, running back, wide receiver, offensive linemen, defensive backs, linebackers and defensive linemen) handed out by the USA College Football Network.

From the slate of weekly honorees, a roster will be selected by the Lombardi Bowl of Advisors. The game, which will take place on the same day as the Division III All-Star game, will cap a three-day event that will open with Lombardi Bowl Banquet on Jan. 14.
