Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Prince Fielder's streak of consecutive games played is over at 547.
The Texas Rangers first baseman was not available for Saturday's game against Toronto after being diagnosed with a herniated disk in his neck.
Fielder, acquired by the Rangers from Detroit in November, last missed a game on Sept. 13, 2010, sitting out for the Tigers against Houston because of flu- like symptoms.
His 547-game streak -- all starts -- was the longest in the majors since Miguel Tejada's was snapped at 1,152 games on June 22, 2007, and ranks 25th on the all-time list.
Fielder, 30, is batting .247 with three homers and a .360 on-base percentage in 42 games this season.
