NEW YORK (Reuters) - Brett Favre was poised to extend his record run of consecutive regular-season starts in the NFL to 290 when the Minnesota Vikings quarterback was declared active for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
There had been speculation his remarkable run might come to a shuddering halt when the 41-year-old said earlier this week he would consider sitting out a game or two because of a lingering elbow injury.
The veteran quarterback, whose endurance in the sport is already legendary, was frustrated after missing several throws in Monday's 29-20 loss to the New York Jets.
Childress delayed making a final decision on Favre's availability until shortly before game time on Sunday.
