Waalwijk, Netherlands – Erik Falkenburg tallied a hat trick to lead Go Ahead Eagles to a 4-1 win at RKC Waalwijk on Saturday, giving the club eight points from its first five games.
Falkenburg started quickly by putting his side ahead after nine minutes, and he doubled his total 10 minutes later to put Eagles up, 2-0.
The 25-year-old completed his hat trick midway through the second half, while Marnix Kolder added a fourth goal for the visitors from the penalty spot.
Denzel Slager pulled one back three minutes from time for Waalwijk, which has earned just one point from its last three games.
PSV Eindhoven was held to a 0-0 draw at home by Cambuur, keeping the club in second place, one point back of leaders Zwolle.
