Of course, the 13-time Pro Bowl tight end had plenty of leverage entering his final NFL season.

Gonzalez agreed in March to put off his retirement to return for a fifth year with the Falcons. In turn, the team agreed to let him miss part of training camp to spend time with his family in California.
