A brief look at the second round Friday at The Players Championship at the TPC Sawgrass:

LEADING: Martin Kaymer (69) was at 12-under 132.

TRAILING: Jordan Spieth had a bogey-free 66 and was at 11-under 133.

LEAVING: Phil Mickelson had a 70 to finish at 1-over 145, missing the cut for the second straight year. Mickelson has missed the cut at The Players and the Masters.

STAYING: Rory McIlroy made a 12-foot birdie putt on the last hole for a 74. Adam Scott got up-and-down for birdie on his last hole at the par-5 ninth for a 67. Both made the cut on the number.

UNAVAILABLE: Adam Scott revealed to Australian Associated Press that he married Maria Kojzar on April 17, four days after the Masters.

ROUND OF THE DAY: Jordan Spieth had a 66. All six of his birdies were from 8 feet or closer.

SHOT OF THE DAY: Charlie Wi holed out from 150 yards for eagle on the par-5 seventh hole.

NOTEWORTHY: The cut was at even-par 144 for the fourth consecutive year at The Players.

QUOTEWORTHY: "I still don't know how my ball went over the green there. I hit sand wedge and it flew 150 yards. I mean, it's just not possible." — Dustin Johnson, on his tee shot that went over the back of the island green on the 17th.
