Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has been charged by police with drink-driving after a 'collision' with a cyclist and petrol pump.

The Republic of Ireland international failed to stop after colliding with a cyclist before hitting a petrol pump.

Reports suggest Gibson was driving a £125,000 Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo when he was involved in an accident, which occurred near to his home.

The cyclist was not seriously injured in the collision, but Gibson was arrested after being breathalysed at a Shell station in Trafford, Cheshire.

A police report read: "He has been bailed to appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 1 September 2015.

"This is in relation to an incident on Sunday 16 August 2015 where police were called to reports that a car had collided with a cyclist on Park Road, Trafford and failed to stop before pulling into a petrol station on nearby Dunham Road and colliding with a pump."
