Espen Kofstad wins Grand Final
Savelletri, Italy – Espen Kofstad fired a 4-under-par 67 on Saturday to win the season-ending Apulia San Domenico Grand Final and finish as the Challenge Tour Number One.
Kofstad ended with a 19-under 265 for the tournament, which held added significance, as the top 21 players in the money rankings were promoted to the European Tour at the event's conclusion.
The Norwegian Kofstad jumped from 11th to No. 1 with his second victory of the year.
Joachim B. Hansen and James Busby both carded an 18-under 266 to tie for second place. The former resides at No. 4 in the rankings, while the latter needed a strong showing to secure his European Tour card.
Busby was the final player to qualify for the Grand Final, but he vaulted himself into the top 21 (16) with rounds of 66, 67, 67 and 66 at the high- stakes, season-ending event.
