Barcelona, Spain – Espanyol signed Portuguese international winger Simao Sabrosa to a two-year contract Friday, pending a physical.
Simao, 32, last played with Besiktas in Turkey, but has previous experience in La Liga with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Capped 85 times for Portugal, Simao started his career with Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and has also played for Benfica in his homeland during his career.
Simao follows Spain defender Joan Capdevila to Espanyol, which starts La Liga on Saturday at Mallorca.
