Foshan City, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Nacho Elvira carded an even-par 72 on Sunday to hang on for a 1-stroke win at the Foshan Open.
Elvira claimed his first career win on the European Challenge Tour at 14- under-par 274.
The Spaniard entered the final round with a 3-shot lead, but countered an early birdie at the second with a bogey at the 14th to head to the 18th hole tied with Sam Walker and Shiv Kapur at 14-under.
Kapur fell off the pace when he failed to get up and down for par following an errant tee shot into a bunker. That left it to just Elvira and Walker, who were playing alongside each other in the final group.
After Walker could not convert his par attempt, Elvira calmly rolled in his 12-foot par effort to claim the win.
Kapur (69), Walker (70) and Tyrrell Hatton (70) finished in a tie for second at 13-under-par 275, while Phillip Archer (69) claimed fifth at 11-under.
Niklas Lemke (67) and Scott Arnold (69) shared sixth at minus-10.
