MOREHEAD, Ky. – Josh Daniel scored 18 points to lead Eastern Kentucky over Morehead State 59-49 on Saturday.
The Colonels (11-9, 5-4 Ohio Valley Conference) scored 17 points off 18 turnovers and snapped the Eagles 24-game home winning streak and 22-game OVC home winning streak. Eastern Kentucky has won five straight road games for the first time since 1965.
The Colonels have allowed 50.3 points per game in its past three, all wins, and held the Eagles to 29.6 percent shooting (16 of 54).
Eastern Kentucky didn't have much success shooting in the first half, going 6 of 24 from the field (25 percent) to trail 24-21 at the break. But the Colonels made 7 of 17 3-pointers in the second half (41.2 percent) to outscore the Eagles 38-25.
Joshua Jones added 14 points for the Colonels.
Demonte Harper had 13 points and Kenneth Faried added 21 rebounds for Morehead State (12-8, 5-4).
