Jontae Sherrod scored 24 points to lead East Carolina to a 76-67 victory over Tulane on Saturday.

The Pirates (9-7, 1-1 Conference USA) shot 61.9 percent from the field (13 of 21) in the second half in their first home game since Dec. 7. East Carolina is 7-1 at home this season.

East Carolina led for the final 18:03, but couldn't pull away from Tulane (12-5, 2-2).

The Green Wave tied the score four times in a 90-second span late in the game, but the Pirates took the lead for good on Sherrod's two free throws with 1:25 left. Two more free throws from Darrius Morrow pushed the lead to 71-67 and the Green Wave didn't score in the final minute.

Morrow finished with 14 points.

Jordan Callahan led Tulane with 22 points, David Booker had 19 and Kendall Timmons scored 10 points to reach double figures for the 16th consecutive game.
