Dortmund, Germany – Robert Lewandowski scored three times on 0 win over Augsburg.
Lewandowski scored on the half-hour mark after being set up by Jakub Blaszczykowski, and he doubled his tally shortly before halftime when a poor clearance from Ginril Sankoh handed him the chance to beat goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch from 10 yards.
Sankoh had an opportunity to make up for his mistake but he saw his penalty kick saved by goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller a few minutes after the break.
Dortmund stretched its lead to 3-0 in the 75th minute when Mario Gotze got on the other end of a pass from Lewandowski to score before the Poland international completed his hat trick three minutes later with Gotze turning provider.
Augsburg has failed to win any of its first eight games in the Bundesliga and sits on the bottom of the league while the defending champions won their second straight match and moved into fourth place.

Leverkusen, Germany - Wolfsburg's struggles continued on Saturday with the club dropping a 3-1 decision to Bayer Leverkusen.
Gonzalo Castro scored the lone goal of the first half for Leverkusen, but Wolfsburg equalized through Mario Mandzukic in the 58th minute.
However, Wolves couldn't prevent themselves from suffering a fourth loss in six games as Eren Derdiyok and Stefan Kiessling scored in the final 25 minutes to help Leverkusen snap a two-game losing streak.
Hoffenheim 0, Bayern Munich 0
Sinsheim, Germany - Bayern Munich's six-game winning streak came to a halt on Saturday at the Rhein-Neckar Arena as the club was held to a 0-0 draw by Hoffenheim.
Bastian Schweinsteiger had the ball in the back of the net for Bayern 20 minutes from time, but it was called back for offsides, while Hoffenheim's best opportunity came in the 22nd minute on a header from Marvin Compper which required a nice diving save from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Bayern still holds a three-point lead over second-place Werder Bremen at the top of the table and the club extends its streak of successive clean sheets in the league to seven matches.
Nurnberg 3, Mainz 3
Nurnberg, Germany - Mainz claimed its first point in four games on Saturday with a 3-3 draw at Nurnberg.
The hosts jumped out to a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes with goals from Markus Feulner and Robert Mak, but Mainz had the match level by halftime with Niko Bungert and Maxim Choupo-Moting netting goals.
Mainz took a lead six minutes into the second half through Andreas Ivanschitz, but couldn't hold on for all three points as Tomas Pekhart equalized for Nurnberg eight minutes from time.
Freiburg 1, Monchengladbach 0
Freiburg, Germany - Monchengladbach missed out on a chance to join Bayern Munich at the top of the table on Saturday as the club lost 1-0 at Freiburg.
Johannes Flum scored the game's only goal in the 18th minute, snapping a three-game losing streak for his team and handing the visitors their first defeat in four games.
Hertha Berlin 3, Cologne 0
Berlin, Germany - A first-half double from Pierre-Michel Lasogga put Hertha Berlin on its way to a 3-0 win over Cologne on Saturday.
Cologne entered the match having won three of its last four games, but the visitors fell behind early with Lasogga scoring in the 13th and 26th minutes.
Raffael made it 3-0 to Hertha in the 33rd minute and there was no way back for Cologne, which dropped to 12th with the result.
