New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was named the National League's Player of the Week for games ending Sept. 14.
Kershaw went 2-0 with 17 strikeouts in victories over the Padres and Giants last week, and his eight-inning gem against San Francisco helped the Dodgers extend their lead in the NL West to three games over the Giants.
For the season, Kershaw leads the majors with 19 wins and a 1.70 ERA.
Also considered for the award were Los Angeles' Carl Crawford and Hanley Ramirez, St. Louis' Matt Holliday, Milwaukee���s Jonathan Lucroy and Pittsburgh's Russell Martin.
