Australia's Billy Dib knocked out Alberto Servidei in the first round to retain his IBF featherweight title.

Dib was making his first title defense after taking the vacant crown on July 29 with a unanimous decision over Jorge Lacierva. He completely dominated the previously unbeaten Servidei on Saturday night, sending the Italian to the canvas late in the opening round, and improved to 33-1 with 21 knockouts.

Up next for the 26-year-old Australian could be a matchup with undefeated WBA champ Chris John.

Dib has not lost since dropping a unanimous decision to Steven Luevano on October 18, 2008 in Atlantic City.

Servidei fell to 31-1-2. The 36-year-old veteran fought outside of his native Italy for the first time.
