Diamondbacks recall OF Gillespie

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled A Reno on Friday.

Gillespie, 27, hit .300 with 19 doubles, 16 triples, 12 home runs and 79 RBI in 137 games for the farm club. He finished second in the Pacific Coast League in runs, triples and walks (81) while setting a career-high in stolen bases with 24.

Last season, Gillespie hit .231 with eight doubles, 2 home runs and 12 RBI in three separate stints with the D-Backs.

Gillespie was acquired by the Diamondbacks via trade from the Milwaukee Brewers on July 19, 2009, in exchange for infielder Felipe Lopez.
