New York, NY – Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Patrick Corbin was voted the National League Pitcher of the Month for May.
Corbin was a perfect 5-0 in five May starts. His 1.53 ERA was the lowest among qualifying NL pitchers and ranked second in the majors.
With a 9-0 record this season, the southpaw currently leads the majors in wins while his 2.06 ERA ranks fourth among qualifying starters. Corbin is the second Diamondbacks pitcher (first lefty) to start 9-0 and first since Brandon Webb in 2008.
Other pitchers receiving votes included Jason Grilli of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia's Cliff Lee, Atlanta's Mike Minor, Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Scott Feldman of the Chicago Cubs and reliever Seth Maness of the St. Louis Cardinals.
