New Jersey Devils sniper Ilya Kovalchuk was back on the ice for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Philadelphia on Thursday.

Kovalchuk sat out Game 2 on Tuesday, which the Devils won, 4-1, to even the best-of-seven series after dropping the opener. He was out with a lower body injury.

His presence was felt on Thursday as he scored a goal and two assists, including the helper on Alexei Ponikarovsky's overtime winner to give the Devils a 4-3 win and a 2-1 lead in this best-of-seven series.

In 77 games during the regular season, he led the Devils with 37 goals and 83 points.
