Desi Washington scored 22 points and Delaware State defeated North Carolina Central 68-59 on Saturday.

Washington was 7 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 7 from long range in leading the Hornets' 3-point shooting attack.

Delaware State (5-8) was 7 of 16 from behind the arc in the game (43.8 percent), including 4 of 7 in the first half (57.1 percent).

The Hornets trailed 6-4 early before Washington made three straight 3s to spark a 13-0 run. Casey Walker's layup put Delaware State ahead 17-6 with 10:14 left in the first half. The Eagles would get no closer than seven the rest of the way.

Walker finished with 16 points and Marques Oliver had 13 points and four blocks for the Hornets, who snapped a five-game losing skid.

Landon Clement led the Eagles (5-8) with 18 points. C.J. Wilkerson chipped in 13 and Marvin Fitzgerald added 10 for North Carolina Central.
