Swansea City announced two signings on Tuesday as the club snapped up Villarreal's Jonathan de Guzman and Genoa's Jose Manuel Flores.

De Guzman, 24, completed a medical and joins Swansea on a one-year loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.

"Once the opportunity came along to join Swansea and [manager] Michael Laudrup it was a done deal," declared the former Dutch Under-21 international and Olympian. "I didn't have to think twice about it."

Flores, commonly known as Chico, joins the Swans from Italian side Genoa on a transfer fee just north of $3 million. The 25-year-old agreed to a three-year deal, subject to international clearance.

"I'm very happy to be here," explained Chico. "I know I am joining a club that has been growing over the last few years and is still ambitious to go even higher.

"Having played in La Liga [with Cadiz] and Serie A, two great leagues, it's a dream come true to play in the Premier League, one of the best, if not the best, in the world."
