A member of the Fond du Lac Chamber of Commerce is taking Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to task for his dairy-free diet.
Brenda Gudex -- the group's agricultural director -- penned a rebuttal for the Fond du Lac Reporter on Friday, arguing that Rodgers' dietary choices are misguided.
"Aaron Rodgers should stop by the Association of Commerce office in Fond du Lac to hear about the benefits of dairy from our agricultural ambassador programming," Gudex wrote.
Rodgers caused a stir in Wisconsin earlier this month when the Super Bowl-winning quarterback told USA Today that he was cutting out dairy products and refining his diet, prompting responses from residents of "America's Dairyland."
"Don't get me wrong, I love the Packers and I love Aaron Rodgers! But to have one of the biggest celebrities in the state announce that he is not eating dairy products during June Dairy Month in the biggest DAIRY state has me a little perturbed, not only being in the position that I am in but also as a Wisconsin dairy farmer," Gudex wrote.
The 32-year-old quarterback says that the diet is designed to maximize his longevity as a football player as he enters his 12th NFL season.
