TALLADEGA, DAY THREE – Bring out the raincoats. Today’s weather forecast for the Talladega Superspeedway area is not pleasant – high of 55 degrees and an 80 percent chance of rain.

That puts today’s track schedule in serious doubt. Qualifying for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 is scheduled at 12:10 p.m. (ET), and the Aaron’s 312 Nationwide Series race is scheduled for 3 p.m.

If qualifying is washed out, the field will be set by practice speeds from Friday’s first practice session. That would put Carl Edwards (199.675 mph) on the pole.

Early-morning rain Saturday had closed the track’s infield tunnel.

Today’s SPEED broadcast schedule from Talladega will begin with Trackside at 11 a.m., followed by qualifying.
