Kenbrell Thompkins says the play that gave the New England Patriots their stunning win had worked in practice.

So the rookie wide receiver was calm when he lined up for it.

He ran to the left edge of the end zone where he caught Tom Brady's 17-yard touchdown pass with 5 seconds left, giving the Patriots a 30-27 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Thompkins said on Monday the Patriots work on late-game and two-minute situations in all their practices. He also said watching film with Brady on the players' usual day off on Tuesdays has been a big help. Brady and his rookie receivers have been doing that this season.

Now Thompkins is preparing for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
