Wade Collie made a layup with 14 seconds to go after a steal by A.J. Hess, and Southern Utah escaped with a 51-50 victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday night.

Collie finished with 13 points for Southern Utah (4-7, 2-0 Big Sky), and Jackson Stevenett led the way with 14 points.

Southern Utah trailed by five points at the half but managed to battle back despite hitting just 21 of 62 field-goal attempts and just 2 of 16 from 3-point range (both good by Collie).

Northern Colorado (3-7, 1-1) still had a chance to win it after Collie's shot, but Tevin Svihovec couldn't get a layup to go with 9 seconds left and Southern Utah pulled in the rebound.

Derrick Barden scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Northern Colorado. Emmanuel Addo scored 10 points.
