Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester City winger James Milner will spend a short time on the sidelines because of a knee injury, casting doubt about his availability for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Milner is already out for Saturday's Premier League contest against Newcastle, and his status for Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Barcelona is in doubt.

The 29-year-old has played a variety of positions this season for manager Manuel Pellegrini, and has managed to net two goals with six assists in 22 Premier League appearances.

While Milner will be unavailable, January signing Wilfried Bony could make his debut with the Citizens after being away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations.

Bony totaled nine goals and two assists in the league for Swansea City this term before making the switch to Manchester last month.
