Cincinnati a welcome site for hot-hitting Brewers

Tuesday, July 7: The Milwaukee Brewers' Jonathan Lucroy hits a home run during the first inning against the Atlanta Braves in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the hottest hitting teams of late and playing in Cincinnati should only further that.

The Brewers are fourth in the major leagues in runs per game since Aug. 18 with a 5.9 average. During that span, Milwaukee is batting .296 -- .315 with runners in scoring position – with an .842 OPS all while averaging 1.31 home runs per game.

And now, a visit to Great American Ball Park, where the Brewers have feasted this year.

Several players have been leading the charge recently, but Jonathan Lucroy in particular. The Brewers catcher has the highest batting average in the NL since Aug. 18.

Other notes:

-- Milwaukee's four-game winning streak at Cincinnati is their longest since a four-game streak which stretch over 2007 and into 2008.

-- The Brewers have scored at least four runs in each of their last six games, tied with Washington for the longest active streak in MLB.

-- Taylor Jungmann has the fifth-best swing-and-miss percentage on curveballs this season in the majors at 46.4 percent. At No. 1 is Cincinnati's Keyvius Sampson at 52.9 percent.

-- Cincinnati's Joey Votto has a .576 on-base percentage since the All-Star break, which is the sixth-highest all-time. The only players with a better post-All-Star OBP are Barry Bonds and Ted Williams.
