Second-seeded Croatian favorite Marin Cilic and fourth-seeded Spaniard Marcel Granollers were semifinal winners Saturday at the Croatia Open tennis event.

Cilic won a rematch of last year's final, avenging his loss to third-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov with a 7-5, 6-2 victory.

The 23-year-old Cilic will be appearing in his third final of the year. Last month, he captured his first career title on grass at the Queen's Club. He was a runner-up at Munich.

Granollers, meanwhile, defeated top-seeded countryman Fernando Verdasco 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 in two hours and 52 minutes to reach his first final of the season.

Cilic has a 4-1 lifetime record against the 26-year-old Granollers.
