Second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova beat top- seeded Marion Bartoli in two sets Sunday to win the $740,000 Mercury Insurance Open.

Cibulkova needed 95 minutes to beat Bartoli, 6-1, 7-5 and win her second career title. She improved to only 2-4 in WTA finals, having beaten Kaia Kanepi in Moscow last year.

The Slovak had two aces and won 78 of the 133 total points in the match. She took advantage of Bartoli's poor second serve, capturing 14 of 22 such points.

Bartoli, the 2007 Wimbledon runner-up, fell to 7-11 in WTA finals. She was looking for her first title since last October in Osaka.

Cibulkova took home $96,000 for her victory.
