The Kansas City Chiefs placed defensive end Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve Monday.

The former first round pick, who was drafted fifth overall in 2008 out of LSU, has been battling a calf injury all season. In four games, the 27-year-old recorded just seven tackles.

In 66 career games, Dorsey has made 65 starts and has recorded 222 tackles, four sacks and recovered four fumbles.

The Chiefs promoted defensive back Neiko Thorpe from the practice squad to take Dorsey's spot on the roster.
