While everyone else is looking for reasons to rag on Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is one of few who's outspoken in his praise for the team's quarterback.

"I have enjoyed being around him," Gase said, via Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. "It is hard to argue with work ethic. He has really put his head down and just grinded and tried to do everything he can to make sure he knows what is going on.

"He has gotten to the point where he can help other guys, and that is what you try to do, get the quarterback there as soon as possible. If he can help other guys, you have a chance to have success."

Gase came over from Denver when the Bears hired John Fox as head coach. As the Broncos' offensive coordinator, he helped quarterback Peyton Manning set NFL records for most passing yards (5,477) and touchdowns (55) in a single season.

Although Cutler has never been in the same category as Manning in terms of talent, perhaps a little bit of Gase's experience with the future Hall of Famer rubs off on Chicago's troubled passer.
