Chelsea has announced the signing of 20 international Ulises Davila from Chivas de Guadalajara on a year deal.

Chelsea's technical director, Michael Emenalo, issued a statement welcoming Davila to the club.

"We are delighted to have been able to get this deal done. Chivas is a superb club with a strong reputation in player development and world football, and we are confident Ulises will be able to continue his fast development to become an important Chelsea first-team player."

Davila follows in the footsteps of previous Chivas youth products who have made the journey to the Premier League, including Manchester United's Javier Hernandez, Arsenal's Carlos Vela, and Fulham's Carlos Salcido.

The 20-year-old can operate as either an attacking midfielder or a striker, playing both positions while representing his country at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He appeared in all seven of Mexico's competitive matches in the tournament en route to securing a bronze medal.
